Captain John did an outstanding job of making us feel like we were a member of his family. He has an extremely friendly demeanor and was always striving to make our trip as pleasant and memorable as possible. I would definitely charter with him if the opportunity ever availed itself in the future.

I sent a google form on the website and asked what availability they had THAT day and within twenty minutes I received a call from Captain John. He explained what time he had and an hour later we were all on his boat departing from Spring Point Marina. He was a warm, friendly, knowledgable, low-key, easy-going guy who made the experience both fun and relaxed. John had nuggets of trivia and information to engage the boys. He showed each boy how to operate a fishing rod and we spent timing fishing. I have so many pictures of smiling and laughing boys with beautiful Portland Headlight and all of Casco Bay in the background. Captain John was engaged the entire time, helping and giving advice and pointers. We fished in a couple spots and then went to lobster. He taught the kids about how to identify the gender, how to measure and determine if the lobster was a "keepah." I would highly recommend reaching out to Captain John and his team at Casco Bay Adventures for a run boat adventure in Casco Bay and we surely will be doing that again with our next family visitors!

  Had a harbor cruise this morning with Capt Bill, what an informative cruise, not only did he give us a history lesson on Portland, Maine and the surrounding areas,... read more we caught some mackerel and hooked up on several stripers and landed one literally fishing 2 spots in 20 minutes !!!!!! We saw baby bald eagles, just an absolutely fantastic trip. Thanks again casco bay adventures

Pulled up some lobster traps and learned about the lobsters, how to measure them and what their gender was. Such a cool experience. And both our daughters got to drive the boat. This was the best part of our trip. Definitely book with them if you want a fun and interactive experience!

John was my high school teacher, and to see him do his thing during our 2+ hour cruise brought back some fantastic memories!

The girls got to fish for mackerel and pollock, haul lobster traps, band the lobsters, see seals, and "drive" the boat.

Anyone who is looking to get their kids out on the water and have an interactive/ informative guide- this tour is for you! Give Capt. John a call and get out there on Catnip!
