  What a great day! 4 hours with Capt John for a birthday celebration with 5 boys, 22 years old. Two of the boys had never been on a boat on... read more the ocean, What! We left the marina and headed out between Peaks and the Diamond Islands into Hussey sound. Mackerel was the first fish to catch then we went on to Stripah's! Everyone on the boat caught at least one striper and or mackerel.
Everyone was thrilled and would like to do it again!
I will book again in July for fishing and tour with the family.

Get out on the bay everyone!

  What a wonderful experience! The weekend we came to Portland ended up being rainy and cold. Capt Bill called to make sure we still wanted to go in the bad... read more weather, and even offered to bring parkas when we told him we would still like to go. We got lucky and had a break in the rain for the trip. We saw lighthouses, eagles, seals and more. We learned some of the history of Portland and got to see the small islands in Casco Bay. Capt Bill even showed my 13 yo how to drive the boat and let my 20 yo son pull in a lobster trap. We are so glad we went even if it was a little cold. I highly recommend choosing this trip!

They also went fishing, saw an island full of seals, pretended to drive the boat, and went swimming. He answered tons of questions I had about the Casco Bay Islands, and took us to see some of the further places like Cliff Island, and some neighboring islands. Captain John picked us up on Peaks Island where we were staying for the week, which made the... read more trip super convenient! The 2 hour “Family Adventure” was the perfect mix of touring the islands of the bay, learning more about them and their history as well as actively fishing in the bay. My kids loved being able to catch fish and had a fun time releasing them at the end as well. We also had the opportunity to help haul in lobster traps during the tour and learned much about lobstering! Our outing with Casco Bay Adventures was definitely a highlight of our trip!

John was my high school teacher, and to see him do his thing during our 2+ hour cruise brought back some fantastic memories!

The girls got to fish for mackerel and pollock, haul lobster traps, band the lobsters, see seals, and "drive" the boat.
