  This is our 3rd time in 3 summers going out on the boat with Captain John and Casco Bay Adventures. It's a highlight of our summer. This is highly... read more recommended if you have little kids (or big kids). We took our son at 1, 2 and now 3 and we have had an awesome time. We went fishing, went lobstering, went around Peak's island among other activities. Captain John is patient and engaging for the kids and we just love doing this.

They caught fish, pulled lobster traps, saw seals in the water, plenty of history and beautiful sights! I would highly recommend spending some time out on Beautiful Casco Bay.   We had an absolutely fantastic time on Captain John’s boat this week. We were looking for a quick two hour tour hitting the highlights of Casco Bay and Portland Harbor... read more and Capt. John delivered: nice little tour of the harbor with some WWII history about the different forts, views of two lighthouses, mackerel fishing, and lobstering. Capt. John kept our three teenage sons engaged as he allowed them to hook and he pulled and measured the eight (!?!) lobsters from the traps. We were also fortunate enough to stumble on a group of porpoises and then swung over to seal rock for some additional entertainment. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, trip and guide to experience Portland’s Harbor.
