John delivered: nice little tour of the harbor with some WWII history about the different forts, views of two lighthouses, mackerel fishing, and lobstering. Capt. John kept our three teenage sons engaged as he allowed them to hook and he pulled and measured the eight (!?!) lobsters from the traps. We were also fortunate enough to stumble on a group of porpoises and then swung over to seal rock for some additional entertainment. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, trip and guide to experience Portland’s Harbor.

  We had a fantastic time with Captain John and Casco Bay Adventures! We went with younger children, and they had a blast! Captain John taught them how to catch and... read more measure lobsters. They also went fishing, saw an island full of seals, pretended to drive the boat, and went swimming. He answered tons of questions I had about the Casco Bay Islands, and took us to see some of the further places like Cliff Island, and some neighboring islands. We saw light houses, forts, lobster traps, and islands in the bay. My family of 6 went on the tour. It was so much more personal than one of the bigger (crowded) sight seeing tours. It was well worth the time and money!
