We saw light houses, forts, lobster traps, and islands in the bay. My family of 6 went on the tour. It was so much more personal than one of the bigger (crowded) sight seeing tours. It was well worth the time and money!

  I'm biased, for sure, but 3 girls aged 6, 7, & 9 and 2 adults had a great time with Capt. John and his daughter/ 1st mate, Carmen, on Casco... read more Bay recently. Capt. John was my high school teacher, and to see him do his thing during our 2+ hour cruise brought back some fantastic memories!

The girls got to fish for mackerel and pollock, haul lobster traps, band the lobsters, see seals, and "drive" the boat.

  What a wonderful experience! The weekend we came to Portland ended up being rainy and cold. Capt Bill called to make sure we still wanted to go in the bad... read more weather, and even offered to bring parkas when we told him we would still like to go. We got lucky and had a break in the rain for the trip. We saw lighthouses, eagles, seals and more. We learned some of the history of Portland and got to see the small islands in Casco Bay. Capt Bill even showed my 13 yo how to drive the boat and let my 20 yo son pull in a lobster trap. We are so glad we went even if it was a little cold. I highly recommend choosing this trip!

  Wife and I booked a cruise through Casco Bay Adventures. Captain John took us around the bay for a couple hours and showed us all the interesting points from... read more nature to historical references of WW II. We also were dropped off to enjoy a dinner at Peaks Island while the Captain waited for us to finish dinner while the sun was beginning to set. We ventured out to also pull up a trap from lobster fishing and learned about the trade and conservation. When we were almost done, we stopped at the light tower for a great picture moment before travelling back to port. Captain John was a wonderful and informative host. If you desire this activity, Casco Bay Adventures should be your only stop. Enjoy! This trip would also be great for kids to see the seals and other marine life as well as lobsters.
