  We had a great time out with Captain John on Casco Bay. We did the two hour tour and it was perfect for our family of 5 with kids... read more ages 12-17. They caught fish, pulled up lobster traps and saw the sights. It was a fun way to start our week off in Maine!

  I'm biased, for sure, but 3 girls aged 6, 7, & 9 and 2 adults had a great time with Capt. John and his daughter/ 1st mate, Carmen, on Casco... read more Bay recently. Capt. John was my high school teacher, and to see him do his thing during our 2+ hour cruise brought back some fantastic memories!

The girls got to fish for mackerel and pollock, haul lobster traps, band the lobsters, see seals, and "drive" the boat.

Anyone who is looking to get their kids out on the water and have an interactive/ informative guide- this tour is for you! Give Capt. John a call and get out there on Catnip!

  What a wonderful experience! The weekend we came to Portland ended up being rainy and cold. Capt Bill called to make sure we still wanted to go in the bad... read more weather, and even offered to bring parkas when we told him we would still like to go. We got lucky and had a break in the rain for the trip. We saw lighthouses, eagles, seals and more. We learned some of the history of Portland and got to see the small islands in Casco Bay. Capt Bill even showed my 13 yo how to drive the boat and let my 20 yo son pull in a lobster trap. We are so glad we went even if it was a little cold. I highly recommend choosing this trip!

  Had a harbor cruise this morning with Capt Bill, what an informative cruise, not only did he give us a history lesson on Portland, Maine and the surrounding areas,... read more we caught some mackerel and hooked up on several stripers and landed one literally fishing 2 spots in 20 minutes !!!!!! We saw baby bald eagles, just an absolutely fantastic trip. Thanks again casco bay adventures

We went on the family adventure charter as an... read more early Father’s Day gift for my husband and my Dad. It was amazing. We sad a bald eagle, seals playing and basking in the sun on the rocks, many light houses, pulled up lobster traps to find 6 in them, caught a mackerel, 3 pollock, a stripped bass, and all in just 3 hours. On top of that Captain John and his lovely wife were so kind they let my son drive the boat for a bit. Wow what a perfect adventure. Oh and they had great knowledge of the islands and area on top of it all. I highly recommend them!!!!!
